  • Appeal of Suspect Accused of Acquiring Molotov Rejected

    The First High Criminal Appeals Court rejected, in absentia, the appeal of a suspect accused of acquiring Molotov. The suspect is sentenced to six months in jail only, due to his young age.

    The Sixth High Criminal Appeals Court rejected the appeal of 4 appellants accused of putting fake bomb on the public street in A’ali. 3 of the appellants are sentenced to 5 years in jail and the fourth one is sentenced to 3 years in jail due to his young age.

  • Appeals Court Upholds 3-Year Jail Term against Suspects Accused of Holding Two Youth inside a Farm, Claiming they are Informants

    The First High Criminal Appeals court sentenced 3 appellants to 3 years in jail. The defendants are convicted of holding, along with other unknowns, two youths (one of them is an Arab citizen). The suspects stripped the Arab youth of his clothes after they hit him and forced him to return home naked, claiming that he and the other youth work as informants for the Ministry of Interior.

    The First High Criminal Court issued 3-year jail term against a policeman in Jaw prison who received bribery from an inmate whose family name is “Balawi” in return for providing him with a mobile phone and a ring and ordered to fine him 200 BD. It also ordered to expel him outside the country after finishing his prison term. The court sentenced the inmate (second suspect) to 3 years in prison.

    The Fourth Criminal Court sentenced five defendants to three years in prison over charges of assembling in Sanabes, another to two and three others to one. The court also ordered the confiscation of the seized items.

    The Fourth High Criminal Court sentenced two defendants, in presence, to one year in jail over burning tires and pouring oil on Sheikh Isa Street in Muharraq and ordered the confiscation of seized items.

  • Court Hands down 2-Year Jail Term instead of 3 to 2 Brothers over Attacking 2 Policemen

    The High Criminal Appeals Court commuted the 3-year jail sentence of two brothers who attacked two policemen to 2 years only. The two policemen had came to arrest one of the bothers who is sentenced to 5 years in jail over robbery case.

    The High Appeals Court upheld a verdict issued against defendants accused of joining “Al-Wafa Islamic Party”. The first instance court had sentenced the first suspect to 10 years in prison and the second suspect to 7 years, revoked their citizenships and acquitted the third one of the charges brought against him.

    The Fourth High Criminal Court presided over by judge Khalifa Al-Dahrani issued life term sentences against 10 defendants accused in “Nuwaidrat warehouse” case.

    The Fourth High Criminal Court considered the objection of an inmate “32 years”, convicted of attacking policeman and sabotaging the room contents of an officer in “Jaw Prison”, void, for not attending the session. The suspect had been sentenced to 3 years in jail.

    The Sixth High Criminal Court commuted the life term verdict issued against a suspect accused of attempting to murder two policemen and burning their patrol to 15 years in jail.

    A Bahraini appeals court upheld on Wednesday (December 20, 2017) a verdict sentencing Hajar Mansour (49 years) and her son Sayed Nizar Nehme Al-Wadaei (19 years) to 3 years in prison. The court also sentenced Hajar Mansour’s nephew Mahmoud Marzouq (30 years) to one month in jail and 100 BD fine over a case of “putting hoax bomb in A’ali”.
