Bahrain’s Fourth High Criminal Court adjourned the case of a Bahraini youth accused of planting fake bomb on Sheikh Zayed Street until April 24.

The Fifth High Criminal Appeals Court upheld a life sentence verdict against Bahraini accused along with 5 others of planting locally manufactured bomb inside a bucket at Ma’ameer village entrance to target policemen situated there. However, the bomb didn’t explode.

The Court of Appeals ruled against deportation penalty of an Asian national, upholding a one-month prison term against him over charges of refusing to provide relief to a victim in a crime of assault leading to permanent disability.

The fourth high criminal court sentenced 4 defendants to 3 years in prison over manufacturing and putting fake bomb on Al-Budai Street, near Diraz, and ordered the confiscation of seized items.

The Court of Cassation today upheld the appealed sentences in the case of deliberate murder and foreign intelligence connections, the Chief of Terror Crime Prosecution, Advocate General Ahmed Al-Hammadi, said.

The Fourth High Criminal Court issued, in absentia, one year jail term and 500 BD fine against a university student studying in London over charge of bringing an air gun and 500 ammunitions with him on a plane.
