Security forces stormed Cellblock 3 in Building 5 of the Jaw Central Prison on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, aiming to forcibly end the sit-in of political prisoners.

Since the release of over 1,500 prisoners, about half of whom are political prisoners, as part of the largest royal amnesty of its kind since the general amnesty in 2001, Bahrain has been experiencing a mixture of joy and political instability simultaneously.

Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim stressed that "Quds Day marches are a source of strength that ignites consciences and action because they unite the nation on the necessity of jihad and resistance," warning that "diminishing the significance of commemorating Quds Day is a victory for the enemy, a decline in the nation's will, and a path towards its defeat."

A number of areas and villages across Bahrain witnessed massive marches on the eve of International Quds Day, expressing condemnation of the Bahraini regime's normalization with the Zionist occupation.

Families of political prisoners held in Jaw Central Prison issued a message on Thursday, April 4th, 2024, addressed to both the head of the National Institute for Human Rights, Ali Al-Dirazi, and the Secretary-General of the Office of the Ombudsman, Ghada Hameed. In the message, they demanded the immediate and unconditional release of the political prisoners.

The Bahraini capital, Manama, witnessed a significant march on Wednesday evening, April 3rd, 2024, in preparation for observing “International Quds Day.”

Just one day after the banquet hosted by the Crown Prince for senior officers and officials of the Ministry of Interior, repression resumed against peaceful marches organized by the families of political prisoners demanding their release. The Al-Wefaq Observatory, affiliated with Al-Wefaq Society, stated that "the authorities have been obstructing the registration and documentation of 124 Shia cemeteries for years, despite the mediation of several influential figures and their efforts to resolve the issue."

The Gulf Institute for Democracy and Human Rights (GIDHR) has condemned the Jaw Central Prison administration's disregard for the demands of over 90 political prisoners to end the adopted isolation policy.

The Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society issued a booklet titled "The Roundabout of Coexistence and Peace" on the anniversary of the demolition of the Pearl Roundabout by the Bahraini regime in 2011, after suppressing peaceful protesters for a month.

The UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention, on Monday, March 18, 2024, confirmed that 4 senior Bahraini opposition leaders were subjected to arbitrary detention, torture, enforced disappearance, unfair trial, and medical neglect.

Prisoners held in Building 10 at Jaw Central Prison returned their Iftar and Suhoor meals in solidarity with their fellow inmates in Buildings 7 and 9, who protested the transfer of political prisoners to isolation by the prison administration.

Al-Wefaq Society stated that the Bahraini government continues to ignore 11 mosques in various areas after they were demolished by the military during the infamous state of emergency in 2011.

40 political prisoners from Building 9 in Jaw Central Prison refused to receive Iftar (fast-breaking) and Suhoor (pre-dawn) meals starting from Sunday, March 17, 2024, in solidarity with those isolated in the prison, and with 53 political prisoners from Building 7.

Security forces at the Jw Central Prison continued their siege of Building 7 in an attempt to suppress the protest and sit-in of political prisoners against the isolation policy pursued by the prison administration.

On Tuesday, March 12, 2024, a Bahraini court issued a three-month prison sentence against 6 citizens for expressing their solidarity with the people of the Gaza Strip in Palestine.
