Bahrain Mirror: The total number of Bahrainis working in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) States reached 2,604, including 130 Bahrainis in Qatar, whose diplomatic relations with Bahrain have been severed for over four months, official statistics revealed.

According to the statistics issued by the General Authority for Social Insurance, 1,454 of these Bahrainis work in Saudi Arabia i.e. 55.8%. However, the number of Bahrainis working in the United Arab Emirates is 518 people, i.e. 19.9%, while in Kuwait, 162 Bahrainis work i.e. 6.2%.

As for the number of Bahrainis working in the State of Qatar reached 340 Bahraini i.e. 13.1%, while the Sultanate of Oman employs 130 Bahrainis, which represent 5% of the total number of Bahrainis working in the Gulf countries.

In a related context, the statistics showed that the total number of Gulf employees in the Bahraini private sector reached 526 employees.

The statistics indicate that the citizens of Saudi Arabia top the list of Gulf employment in Bahrain, with a total of 329 employees, i.e. 62.5%.

The statistics also reveal that the number of employees from Oman in Bahrain is 163, i.e. 30.8%, while the number of Kuwaiti citizens working in the island kingdom reached 23, 4.4% of the total Gulf private sector workers.

According to the figures as well, the number of employees from the United Arab Emirates reached 7 people i.e. 1.3%, while Qataris amounted to 5 employees.
